We couldn’t be more excited to announce that TechRepublic Pro is all grown up. It is striking out on its own as an independent site, now called Tech Pro Research, a joint venture between TechRepublic and ZDNet.

If you’re an existing TechRepublic Pro subscriber, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. If you’re not a current TechRepublic Pro subscriber, then we’re going to explain how Tech Pro Research can help you make smart IT decisions and run an innovation IT department.

TechRepublic has offered a premium subscription product since we launched Tech Pro Guild in 1999, offering in-depth technical articles, online access to IT books, and printed journals. Yes, back then we still mailed paper journals featuring a selection of our best articles every month.

Over the past 14 years, Tech Pro Guild underwent a series of transformations. We eliminated the paper journals and moved to downloadable documents--causing trees everywhere to rejoice. We expanded our premium content to include ready-made IT policies and ebooks compiled from the best of TechRepublic. And we eventually fully integrated Tech Pro Guild into TechRepublic, renaming it TechRepublic Pro.

What's never changed is our commitment to helping you get the information you need to solve tough IT problems. And today, we're excited to announce that we've greatly expanded on this commitment. We've hired more editorial staff. We've expanded our premium content library. We signed up some of the leading minds in IT to write for us. And, we’re pulling it all together into a brand new site totally focused on bringing you a fast, convenient, ad-free experience.

Tech Pro Research is all about IT decision support for business leaders. With that in mind, here are the five types of content you’ll find on the new site:

Original, in-depth research reports on global IT trends: We survey IT business decision makers around the world to learn what matters most. Download our Windows 8 Business Intentions report for an example of this type of insightful resource.

Exclusive content from leading IT columnists: Get industry analysis, actionable advice, and expert opinion from seasoned tech journalists like Ed Bott, Mary Jo Foley, Larry Dignan, Jason Hiner, and Bill Detwiler. Tech Pro Research will feature exclusive content from all of them.

Analyst briefings from industry experts: Who knows more about the problems facing IT than the real-world industry leaders? Find out what problems they’ve dealt with at top companies around the world and how they’ve fixed them.

Time-saving policies, templates, and tools: Don’t waste time creating new forms. Use ours. Download our ready-made IT policies, templates, and tools and customize them to fit the needs of your business.

Comprehensive ebooks: Get the best of TechRepublic and ZDNet compiled in one convenient package. Our comprehensive ebooks are full of information on the most relevant topics in business technology. Even better, they’re absolutely free as part of your Tech Pro Research membership.

In the past, we offered a subscription to TechRepublic Pro, but we also sold each item separately. For example, it would cost $149 for each research report, $49 for each ready-made policy template, $69 for a toolkit, and $89 for a full ebook. We’re no longer selling each of these items as a standalone products. Instead, subscribers can now get access to everything we do for an annual subscription of $299 per year.

To thank our loyal TechRepublic Pro subscribers, we've giving you access to Tech Pro Research for the remainder of your paid subscription term. Simply log-in with your current TechRepublic Pro log-in credentials, and you’re on your way! You can still access your purchased downloads under your "My Previous Downloads" tab. And you can review your current subscription status by going to your “My Subscription” tab.

We're extremely proud of Tech Pro Research and there's more good things to come. In the coming months we'll be launching even more exciting new features, such as members-only forums and more. We encourage you to explore the site. Once you see all that Tech Pro Research has to offer, we hope you'll be hooked. And if you have feedback, don't hesitate to contact us.
