If you can find an Intel Core i5 laptop for under $500, you’ve usually found a decent deal. For today only, Toshiba is doing you one better, offering up such a laptop plus an extended warranty for just $450, a huge 40% savings.

The Satellite C50-BBT2N11 laptop is loaded with a Core i5-4210U CPU, which is not only current-gen but a recent refresh that will be a tick or two faster than your typical Core i5-4200U-powered laptops. You can expect strong performance here, and being a ULV processor, it will keep your power consumption down and battery life up.

As for other specs, you start off with a fairly standard 4GB of RAM and 500GB hard drive, which is more than sufficient for casual use. While power users will likely want to upgrade these over time, the good news is that this is a much easier bottleneck to resolve than a slow processor, and the Core i5 will be a capable CPU for a long time.

toshiba-satellite-c50-bbt2n11-laptop-front-measuredToshiba has included an HDMI port here, making it easy to hook up to larger displays, as well as a trio of USB ports (three USB 3.0), VGA, and a multi-card reader. There’s 802.11n WiFi too, as well as a DVD-RW for your optical media. There’s no Bluetooth standard, but it’s an inexpensive upgrade if you want it.

The warranty has been upgraded to two years, so you’ll be able to rest easy knowing your purchase is covered. If you want a third year, the price has even been cut down to just $29 (and as a side note, upgrading to a $499+ total saves you $15 in shipping, so if you opt for a 3rd year, you could tack on an accessory like the $21 backPack and effectively get it for $6).

You can pick this up right now with some huge savings, but hurry as this ends today.
