Gaming rigs tend to place a premium on performance, and it’s no surprise that in the quest to shave milliseconds off response time while playing high end games, things can get a little pricey. That said, there’s still no reason to shell out full freight when you don’t have to — with today’s coupon code you can take advantage of a rare price drop on a powerful Alienware 17 gaming system and pay just $1349.

This laptop packs premium specs, highlighted by the quad-core Core i7-4700MQ processor and 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M graphics card. This combo will definitely keep your frame rate up on even the latest games, ensuring your rig will have the chops to play for a long time. The 17.3-inch anti-glare display also sports a  1920×1080 resolution. As a result, you’ll get a great clear image even in a well-lit room, and have all the screen real estate you could need to play games fully or multitask in windowed mode.

dell-alienware-17-control-center-frontThe Alienware 17 also features a speedy 1TB hard drive with 80GB mSATA SSD combo, giving you ample storage for HD media and games while also granting the benefits of a fast boot time and instant resume. Compared to a lot of drives with an 8GB or 16GB cache, you can actually get more than token use out of the solid state drive too. A respectable 8GB of RAM also comes standard, but there are four DIMM slots to easily allow expansion down the road.

Wireless connectivity will be strong with dual-band Broadcom 4352 802.11ac WiFi, keeping your pings refreshingly low, and there’s also Bluetooth 4.0. There are numerous ports for wired connections as well, including four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 1.4, mini-DP, Gigabit Ethernet, a multi-card reader and more. In general, you will have plenty of options.

As an Alienware laptop you also have access to Alienware Command Center 3.0, a hub where you can program keyboard shortcuts, monitor your power-management, configure customizable lighting settings, and much more to really make the gaming experience your own. Dell covers this with a 1 year Alienware warranty. Grab this today for the lowest price we’ve seen yet on an Alienware 17 this well equipped.

Hi – did you apply the coupon code? It’s still working for me to bring the price down to $1,349. Here’s a screengrab: https://app.box.com/s/02zoxv94mdg793ivccwe

Just to add, we just found an even better coupon code knocking the price down further! Also tested it, and working fine. See the update above.

Such a monster for a laptop!

DS

I agree – thanks for sharing!

Don’t see the point of this when you can get the Y50 with the GTX 860 for the same price

DS

I hear you, the Y50 is also a beast. But they’re different laptops – the Y50 is smaller at 15.6?, SSD is smaller, Windows 8 instead of Windows 7, no Command Center if that matters to you, things like that. Comes down to preference.
